The Mardi Himal Trek, located in Nepal's Annapurna region, offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks, including Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, and Hiunchuli. This relatively new and pristine trek features diverse landscapes, from rice fields and rhododendron forests to alpine terrains and snow-covered peaks. Trekkers pass through traditional Nepali villages like Dhampus, Pritam Deurali, Forest Camp, Low Camp, and High Camp, where they can experience the unique culture of the Gurung and Magar people.

The route is rich in flora and fauna, with rhododendron blooms in spring, and opportunities to spot wildlife like Himalayan black bears, musk deer, and leopards. The trek begins in Kathmandu, followed by travel to Pokhara and then to Phedi, where the journey starts. It includes beautiful forest trails, steep climbs, and stunning mountain vistas, with Mardi Himal Base Camp as the highlight.

After reaching the base camp, trekkers head back through Siding and Lwang villages, where they can enjoy a homestay experience. The trek is ideal from March to May and September to November, when the weather is clear and the trails are dry.

• Private car/van transport from Pokhara to Kande and shared jeep from Siding village to Pokhara on return

• Experienced, English-speaking government-licensed guide familiar with the region
